Truckee Chamber Announces the Appointment of Jessica Penman as President and CEO

Truckee, CA – After conducting an extensive research and interview process, the Truckee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced Jessica Penman as its new President and CEO, effective October 3, 2022. Penman will replace outgoing President and CEO Lynn Saunders, after a successful 20-year tenure in the House.

Through her experience at the Yountville Chamber of Commerce as Director of Community Relations, Penman has seen the positive impacts chambers have on their communities. His years in the Yountville Chamber allowed him to oversee many projects aimed at supporting and educating the business community; her unique skills and experience will make her an exceptional leader for the Truckee community.

Penman blends his passion for the Chamber’s mission with a love for the Truckee community. “On my tenth birthday, my parents signed the paperwork for a three-bedroom condo at the base of the Tahoe Donner ski resort. For over 25 years, Truckee has been a constant, a place I call home. “I’ve seen the community grow from sleepy Lake Tahoe neighbor to a must-visit tourist destination over the past few decades. With that change comes growing pains, the kind that only a chamber of commerce can tackle,” said said Penman.

“The extensive search for a new Chamber CEO has resulted in a number of qualified candidates. The board ultimately chose Jessica because of her passion and knowledge of chambers of commerce, her experience in implementing innovative programs to support business communities, and her pure energy and his enthusiasm for serving the Truckee area. We couldn’t be more proud to welcome Jessica, said Emily Vitas, Board Chair.

A smooth transition from current House President and CEO Lynn Saunders was arranged, allowing Penman to shadow Saunders before he left. Penman will begin with a series of community presentations to gain insights that will be invaluable in implementing a new strategic direction for the Chamber, which focuses on corporate advocacy, community outreach and education, and the economic development.

“We thank Lynn for all she has done for the Chamber over the past 20 years. We are confident that Jessica will build on this success and help the Chamber become a more relevant and essential organization for Truckee now and in the years to come,” continued Vitas.
