New album “9 to 5”
King Tappa releases his third studio album titled 9 to 5.
This album consists of nine tracks all recorded
in his home studio. Each song was written by King Tappa and reflects his work over many years. The title track, for example, was written nearly a decade ago. When asked why he t
ook so long to release this song King Tappa said “I didn’t feel like it was the right time and I re-recorded it many times over the past few years just to make it sound like II imagined it.
King Tappa says the album is a variety of things because so much has happened since his last release in 2019. Since releasing his album “Feeling the Vibes” in 2019, King Tappa has performed regularly in the United States and recently toured with Jamaican reggae band Link and Chain. He also gave standout performances at the 2021 and 2022 Orlando Jerk Festival and recently participated in the Freedom Sound Riddim produced by Adrian “Donsome” Hanson. King Tappa has released several singles in the three years since his last album, including his collaboration with Jamaican artist Bascom X on the 2021 single “Flirt.”
The new album 9 to 5 has been given
lots of thought as they touch on various topics ranging from relationships to social issues. It offers good uptempo reggae music on tracks like “Are You Feeling It” and “Reggae Music” to more serious tones like “Freedom” and “Children are the Future”. King Tappa brings his signature tone and passion to all nine tracks showing off his versatility as his audience
is sure to enjoy.
Production for the album was done by various producers, namely Mark Walcott and Jim the Boss from the United States, Sinky Beats from Spain, and Y-Not Productions.
About King Tappa:
King Tappa is an international reggae singer based in Florida. He has been in the music industry for over ten years. Beginning his music career as a DJ in his early teens through college
and his twenties.
Music has always been part of his family. King Tappa remembers singing and freestyle at the age of 14 and four years later, it’s no surprise he decided to take music seriously. Starting out as a DJ, he created Power Sound and was called DJ Tappa. He has had the opportunity to perform in many venues in the tri-state area and even outside of the United States. The highlight of his DJ career was performing with Stone Love at Da Culture Lounge Fredrickstead, St.Croix USVI in 2005. King Tappa switched to vocals and released his debut album in 2007. King Tappa can boast of wrote his own songs. that go well beyond 100 songs. He took out his
second album titled “Feeling the Vibes” in July 2019. This album was released a decade after his first release, proving that he has grown tremendously over the years through his music and performances. The album garnered much attention in the United States, Africa and the Caribbean with major reviews from The Jamaica Observer, Star and Gleaner as well as a Tanzanian magazine. King Tappa performs both locally and internationally in places like Canada, the Caribbean and Nairobi Kenya Africa which is by far the highlight of his career.
