How to create a guide on Google Maps?

As a business owner, you know that reviews and fresh content are critical to the success of your business. Let’s say you really want to publicize your business. In such a situation, you’re likely putting considerable effort into producing new blog posts, social media updates, or video material to keep your audience engaged.

On the other hand, Google Local Guides is a less active type of promotion that can help your business grow and rank higher in local search results. Not only does it help to create an itinerary guide for daily routines, but also for marketing a business.

Inside Access Google Local Guides, launched in 2015, replaced Google Cities. Google Guides lets customers provide ratings in exchange for perks like storage space and clothing. Google Guides has been popular since its introduction, especially on how it could boost your business’s internet presence.

Interior access

Indoor use of a card is as everyday as outdoor use. Using Maps, you can identify malls, airports, and other large structures, then click on the location to see a detailed view, and finally you can scroll down to Directory to see what services are offered inside. Now you’ll never have to explore the city aimlessly in search of a Cinnabon again.

Mark more than one location on Google Maps

Journeys usually include more than just moving from place to place. It is more common for them to get from point A to point B via several intermediate stops, such as the café, the library, Joe’s house, etc. Fortunately, Google allows you to plan the actual trip in advance.

Enter your origin and final destination into the Google Maps program on your mobile device, then tap the three dots in the upper right corner to add additional stops along the way.

A menu with the option “Add a stop” will appear when you do this. If you click on it, you will be able to add several stops to your route. Route stops can be moved at your discretion. (Please note that this does not apply to the public transport alternative.)

Customize your vehicle icon

The Google Maps iOS and Android apps have a feature that allows drivers to select a specific vehicle to use as their navigation system. Just enter your destination and the app will start directing you there. If you tap on the location icon, a menu will appear with several vehicle icons, including a sedan, van, and SUV.

Drag and drop to reverse direction

When using the desktop version of Maps to find directions, you can drag and drop your route to pass through or avoid certain places. To change your path, just click and delete any part of it. This only works for walking, driving, or biking routes, but not for public transport.

Improving your marketing presence on Google Maps can and will likely take time, just like other forms of digital marketing optimization. There are no shortcuts, magic bullets, or easy fixes that will propel you ahead of the pack.

You may have to wait a bit for your Google Maps visibility to increase even if you adopt the above tweaks. Nevertheless, try not to lose hope. Maintain a high level of optimization, update your profile and information often, and give your attention where it belongs: to your consumers.
